Who We Are

Willy Dunne

After years of exploring the world as an itinerant biologist, in 1987 Willy settled down in Fritz Creek on the shores of Kachemak Bay where he found recovery and community. His support from the recovery community here allowed him to grow into a productive community member, father, grandfather, husband and employee. He is now retired and when not gardening, skiing, hiking, or otherwise enjoying the Great Outdoors, his focus is supporting our budding organization, Kachemak Bay Recovery Connection.

Jaclyn Rainwater

Jaclyn was born and raised in Alaska and is blessed to be a part of the recovery community on the Southern Kenai Peninsula. After years of struggling with addiction, the gifts of sobriety have come to fruition in her life; she is a proud wife and mother of two, works as Peer Support for Ninilchik Traditional Council and facilitates a local recovery coalition. She enjoys quality time with her family, fishing, hiking, and all that Alaska has to offer. She is grateful to see the community support behind Kachemak Bay Recovery Connection and looks forward to new ways of spreading hope of freedom from addiction.

Roy Wilson

Born and raised in Northern California. Seven years as an US Army officer, twenty seven years as a technician and supervisor with a thin-film coating company. Sixteen of the last eighteen years a deckhand long lining Halibut and Drifting for Sockeye on the Shadowline. A ten day trip to Homer has turned into an 18 year adventure. In Homer I have found recovery, community, friendship and a chance to be of service to others in recovery. I am also delighted to be a father of four, grandfather to twelve and great grandfather to five. My other passions are cross-country skiing and trail grooming, fishing (retired after 16 years commercial fishing), and hiking.

Pamela Baltzer

Pamela is a lifelong Alaskan who grew up in Anchorage. She moved to Sterling after graduating high school, then relocating to Homer twelve years later. Homer is where her heart is and where she has raised her four children, alongside her husband and partner. She is blessed to be a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, an aunt and a great aunt.

Family history is of loving, living with and unfortunately loosing family members due to substance misuse, Pamela is thankful to have an opportunity to help others who struggle with substances and feels that it is through building connections that we can find a greater opportunity to have hope.

Shannon Honebrink

Avid traveler and adventure seeker, Shannon first visited Alaska in 2014 and a short three months later made the move here permanently.  When not working in the virtual healthcare space, Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.   She loves fishing, hunting, cooking and any way she can give back to her community. In 2015 she lost her sister to addiction and has since started her own recovery journey.   Community is such an important aspect of recovery and she is looking forward to helping create hope and opportunity for those still struggling and looking for an alternative way of life.

Barbara McNinch

I am a semi-retired Occupational Therapist. Through the use of activities, the profession provides people the skills they need to be successful, functioning members of our society. As a volunteer, I will share my skills as I work with the KBRC board to foster connection and community for people in recovery and others affected by addiction.

I have lived in Alaska for close to 50 years and understand the difficulties and wonders of living in our unique state. I like to travel, hike, garden, dance, knit, and sew. I also really love drinking a good cup of tea while watching the changing moods of Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains.
