Jane Beck

Jane arrived in Homer in the summer of 1983 and has made it home ever since. She and her husband have raised a family here and love spending time with her two wonderful adult children and granddaughter. Jane is retired after over three decades of work in education, with the last 19 years devoted to nonprofit programming and grants administration. She is passionate about community work and is honored to engage with KBRC as the Interim Operations Manager for the summer of 2026. Board Members

Willy Dunne

President

After years of exploring the world as an itinerant biologist, in 1987 Willy settled down in Fritz Creek on the shores of Kachemak Bay where he found recovery and community. His support from the recovery community here allowed him to grow into a productive community member, father, grandfather, husband and employee. He is now retired and when not gardening, skiing, hiking, or otherwise enjoying the Great Outdoors, his focus is supporting our budding organization, Kachemak Bay Recovery Connection.

Shannon Honebrink

Vice President

Avid traveler and adventure seeker, Shannon first visited Alaska in 2014 and a short three months later made the move here permanently.  When not working in the virtual healthcare space, Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.   She loves fishing, hunting, cooking and any way she can give back to her community. In 2015 she lost her sister to addiction and has been active in the recovery community here in Homer.   Community is such an important aspect of recovery and she is looking forward to helping create hope and opportunity for those still struggling and looking for an alternative way of life.

Dan Cope

Dan was raised in Homer from the age of 6 and attended Homer schools through high school graduation. After attending college out-of-state, Dan returned to Homer to work for a local general contractor on several noteworthy public buildings throughout the Southern Kenai Peninsula. After a 5-year absence from Homer to pursue graduate studies and professional experience in the Lower-48, Dan returned to Homer in 2010 to assume a management and ownership position in the construction industry at his former employer. Dan is the father of two elementary school aged daughters and is actively living a life in recovery from alcohol addiction. Dan enjoys spending time with his daughters, fly fishing, and participating in acts of service for those seeking recovery from substance abuse and addiction.

Barbara McNinch

Board Member

Barbara is a retired Occupational Therapist who currently substitute teaches in the Homer area schools. Her professional background included working closely with young children impacted by their parents’ substance abuse. Her family has also experienced unexpected loss due to fentanyl. These experiences have fueled her commitment to volunteer with KBRC. Barbara shares her skills working with KBRC to foster connection and community for people in recovery and others affected by addiction.

Barbara first arrived in Homer, Alaska, 50 years ago and continues to call it home. She understands the difficulties and wonders of living in our unique state. She likes travelling, hiking, gardening, dancing, knitting, and sewing. Barbara really enjoys drinking a good cup of tea while watching the changing moods of Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains.

Jessi Felice

Board Member

Jessi and her family moved to Homer in the summer of 2014 from central New York. Though her full time job is as a Special Education teacher at Homer High, she likes to be active in the community. Losing her mother and oldest brother both to addiction, as well as having her own recovery story, she found herself at home with Homer’s Recovery community. She is an employee of South Peninsula Haven House as an Upstander Advocate, looking to make this a safe community for her two sons to grow up in. When not watching NFL or NBA with her boys, she likes to cold dip in our beautiful Kachemak Bay and to be of service in recovery.

Judy Dean

Board Member

A lifelong sense of adventure took Judy and a friend up the Alcan at age 24. Much to her surprise she found the sense of belonging that she didn’t realize was missing. Judy recently retired from a rather diverse and rewarding 42 year nursing career. Normalizing sobriety and helping people impacted by addiction to find a sense of belonging and community is important to her. Addiction took the life of her brother and has deeply affected her and many of those she cares for. She still loves a solid adventure, as well as spending time with family, friends, and her golden retriever.
