We are Peer Workers

As peer support providers, our lived experience has positioned us to assist those struggling with substance use disorder and addiction. We understand the challenges and celebrate achievements and recovery. We listen without judgment and offer respectful support, wisdom, and a broad knowledge of available resources for treatment options, goal-setting, and empowerment in a non-clinical setting.

We are familiar with the available clinical resources that may be needed, and can facilitate connections to detox services, residential or outpatient treatment options, medically assisted treatment, and/or behavioral health centers. We are here to assist with scheduling appointments, and can secure transportation to and from treatment centers.

We are committed to guiding those challenged by substance use disorder through their recovery journey and understand that there are many different pathways forward. We empower them as they identify their next concrete steps, re-engage with family, friends, and community, re-connect with themselves, and build a fulfilling life. We are familiar with the often complicated systems and can work side by side with our participants to create intentional recovery plans, build coping skills, and navigate what can seem to be a daunting road to recovery.

As peer supporters, we help problem-solve the complexities of re-entering daily life, whether addressing needs for safe and reliable housing, organizing transportation to sober events, or building meaningful connections to recovery-based groups and activities. To strengthen independence and health, we assist with exploring vocational opportunities, developing resumes, and building interviewing skills. Everyone has a story, and support is offered on a case-by-case basis, ensuring a customized approach to recovery and health.
